----------------------------------

When I was five years old, my mother told me happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said happy. They said I didn't understand the assignment, I said they didn't understand life. -John Lennon

The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do and what a man can’t do. For instance, you can accept that your father was a pirate and a good man or you can’t. But pirate is in your blood, boy, so you’ll have to square with that some day. And me, for example, I can let you drown, but I can’t bring this ship into Tortuga all by me onesies, savvy? So, can you sail under the command of a pirate, or can you not? -Captain Jack Sparrow

Hallo Amy! *Hugs back* Long time no speak hun! Hmm... Beatlemania... The sixties were obviously the best years ever! Personally, I didn't read many newspapers but you couldn't go two blocks without someone humming "I Wanna Hold Your Hand." And then the people I was living with at the time finally got a TV in 1963 - a black and white one, mind - and it seemed like every channel was full of the Beatles on chat shows and press interviews! They were EVERYWHERE. It was brilliant but sorta stifling - I'd never seen anyone get that kind of media attention (nobody that I'd taken notice of anyway). "I wanna hold your handdddd!"

It genuinely depends on my mood, but music nowadays is awful. Tinny, forgettable, rap songs about sex. I really did like the 50's music, when the lyrics were about love not just materials, and the 80's and early 90's were a brilliant time for new technology to really help music. I wouldn't say I have a favourite band, and I can appreciate some of the newer music, but music prior to the turn of this century was much better.
